List of Must have Android Apps! Aka Maneesh's List

A friend of mine  made this android app list for another  friend {friendception} and thought I’d share it over here. You can follow him @ Google+

So here you go, must have apps for Android devices :)

[MX Player]

MX player is a "throw any file type at me" video player with gesture controls for seeking, volume and screen brightness.

[Power AMP]

Thus far the best music player app that can be as simple as you need but has the capacity to be tweaked to your liking. I've provided the trial version link; you can buy it if you like it.

[Fipboard]

Flipboard is a news reader that provides you feeds from popular magazines and websites as well as your Facebook and twitter streams in a magazine style.

[Aldiko Book Reader]

Aldiko is an eBook reader and accepts most eBook formats including those used by Kindle. Library view is like iOS new stand and content view is customizable from background colour, text size and even margins.

[Camera FV-5]

This camera app gives you more SLR like control over the pictures you take and has a built in intervalometer for time lapse which works like a charm from my experience. Link is to trail version.

[Chrome]

While chrome is not the best web browser out there, it’s defiantly has its place if you use Chrome on your desktop and laptop as well. It auto syncs your bookmarks and last visited pages across all your devices so you can move between your devices pretty seamlessly.

[Pocket]

Pocket is a service that lets you bookmark articles and tweets from both your device and their web app for offline viewing.

[QuickPic]

QuickPic should be the default gallery app on all android devices. It gives you full control over how your pictures are presented and how they arranged. The HUGE plus for me is that I can exclude folders from view so my personal photos aren’t available for anyone who picks up my phone. You can also set it to ignore your music folder so all your album art doesn't show up.

[IMDB]

If you enjoy movies and like a bit of background this app is ideal. You can easily find plots and ratings for movies you thinking of hiring/watching; you can see what’s coming new as well as watching trailers right from the app.

[Dropbox]

I'm assuming you're a dropbox user already. This app does pretty much what the desktop application does, but the benefit is that you don't have to plug in your phone to download pictures and videos are the night out. Simply let it upload to dropbox and it will be available fro you when you get home.

[Instagram]

This one is more of a convenience app for me. I find it easier to upload pictures using Instagram and then share it to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare and Flickr all at once. Warning: You will be called a hipster for having an instagram account at some point.

[TuneIn Radio]

So far the best music and radio streaming app I've found. Has all the local stations as well so if you need the traffic report in a pinch, tune in to 702 and viola.

[YouTube]

You probably have this on your phone already but on the off chance that you don't, get it. It makes watching YouTube videos a much more pleasant experience.

[SoundHound]

Walked into a store and they were playing something that I HAD to have. Soundhound listens to a clip of the song and gives you artist and title information. Pretty much the TrackID thing Sony had but never really took advantage of.

[RingDroid]

For all the awesome things you phone can do, changing your ringtone and notification tone may well be the most frustrating. Ringdroid lets you cut a section of a song and set is as a ringtone right from the app.

For the times you need to do a few easy touch ups, crops or down size for all those Blackberries that lock up at anything higher than 2 megapixels, Photo Editor is clean and easy to use, even letting you keep the existing EXIF data on your photos.

[ASTRO File Manager]

ASTRO file manager is somewhere between your stock file manger and a file explorer on a desktop OS. You can also back up your apps with it.
